Introduction
As I set out on creating this website, I had a few goals that I wanted to achieve, or at least itches that I wanted to scratch:
Start writing for fun
I spend most of my day in front of a keyboard, but it feels like I don't often write anything for the sake of writing it. A project like this site should give me a bit of a reason to engage with that, and hopefully find my voice a little more.
Start enjoying media again
It feels like in recent years, there's just so much that I've 'got' to watch or listen to or play that to be honest it just feels like I end up doing nothing. I just end up with exhaustion or decision paralysis with some of these things, so a bit of structure and the act of sharing my thoughts more actively will hopefully fulfil that.
Make sense of some of the bigger themes at play
I've always tried to make sense of the world, and I'm hoping that by exploring certain media, perhaps supplementing that with further reading and research I can learn more about people and the world as a whole.
Making a simple website
Given that I've spent nearly the last 2 decades making software for a living, primarily on the web, it's actually a nice thing just to trying and put a simple website together without it being some sort of enterprise E-commerce or business logic-driven affair. Just me, a simple theme, and maybe some little niceties as I go along, but nothing to bog me down too far in the tech end.
With those in mind, plus with something that's been in the back of my head for a while, I'm going to set out my plan for the first 'arc' if you will of Lines in the Fog.
