Maralith
Apparently we roused Maralith from her slumber.
The power of burning flame is mine and mine alone!
Those who would oppose me shall burn in hellfire!
Given the number of swords and arms she has, I can tell she's going to mean business. Taking the manual helm here, it feels like this will be a good time for Glitz to break out some Blizzaras while everyone else tries to soften her up with physical attacks.
Maralith attacks with Fira, which given Clair's minimal damage output means she'll be on healing next time round, but Blizzara and Rukus seem to be doing healthy damage. Kaili has the problem of single digit output this time, and it definitely feels like I'm missing something, but I'm not sure how better to prepare for these fights in that sense.
This pattern continues, and fortunately Maralith chooses to cast Hold on Kaili, so while they're out of action for now, it's not the biggest loss in terms of damage output. Then next time round she tries Rukus, and in a miracle he isn't effected. Clutch bit of status avoidance there for our leading man.
Maralith gets in a good couple of physical licks at Kaili, but not enough to outstrip Clair's healing, and with a final Blizzara, she's down! The 3,000 gil and 2,475 EXP is actually probably less than a lot of enemies in this area, so that's a bit out of alignment for me, given she was a decent challenge, but it won't dampen our success, as our second Crystal is illuminated.
We again have a teleport at the end, which is nice and we make use of that to pop back up on the world map.
