Completing our Spelunking
I realised upon booting up the game again that we hadn't actually explored all of the Dragon Caves, so at the start of today's journey we should cover that off.
Trying the other one on the same island as Bahamut's throne room, we just have some dragons to talk to, one of whom let us know that it's customarily dragons that head to the Citadel of Trials to claim a token of courage. Another one tells us that the form of the token changes with the times, and not to let its appearance deceive us.
This is all falling fairly squarely under the "we did this backwards" category, which feels like it might be the leitmotif for this play-through almost.
The last one has a couple of storerooms though, the northern one containing:
- A Tent
And the southern one containing:
- A Dry Ether
- A Gold Needle
Nothing to write home about, but better than nothing. The dragon in here is impressed we're not scared of him, which again, would be more rational if we hadn't already gained the favour of his king.
Anyway, that covers that off, it's time to get properly back in the skies!
I decide we should try the north western continent first, as there's a nice big area to park our airship. We scout the continent, and see there's a village, and a marker in the north of a small desert on this continent, so we make for the village. Maybe they'll be able to point us in the direction of another Fiend.
Entering battle for the first time, it seems like while our crew look different, they're still basically the same in terms of damage output. To be honest though, the enemies in this area are pretty manageable already. Famous last words perhaps? Glitz looks on nervously.
