Onrac
We arrive in Onrac without any incident though - and it looks quite pretty, a few columns, and I notice how well the water in what may be a moat is animated. It's almost incongruous with the 16 bit style how fluidly it's moving.
There's another dancing girl here, so maybe she's a font of knowledge again. Or maybe just really likes her legs. And having legs. Yes she says that. We move on quietly, to leave her with her legs.
Apparently there's a caravan with something very weird for sale. I think this tracks with something from Gaia last time, but I don't want to cheat and look up whether I wrote it down in the last post...
We also have more reports of something falling out of the sky, which ties up with other rumours from Gaia. I think we're at least on the right track in that sense.
Speaking to more members of the village, it turns out the caravan is in the desert, so that might have been our other marker on this continent. Apparently they usually pitch camp there, so we may pay them a visit shortly.
We bump into a mage-looking person outside of the Black Magic shop who asks us "Are those legs REALLY yours?". There's a pattern here it seems, and it's not quite tracking for me. That's literally all they have to say, and I have zero context.
The Level 7 Black Magic store looks interesting though, and I pick up the Saber spell for Glitz, which should increase a caster's attack and accuracy. That feels like it could come in clutch in a boss battle at some point.
In the White Magic store, we pick up Healaga for Clair, which feels like a no-brainer in terms of just keeping everyone healed up, again in potential boss situations. The two of them set us back 30,000 gil each, but with 188,000 gil left, we still have plenty to potentially pick up more bits and pieces if we want them.
We also bump into a dragon, who I guess may have been our cue to go to the caves, who is just amazed we, as humans, were honoured by the Dragon King.
A final bit of lore from a girl outside of the inn before we head to the desert:
The Sunken Shrine is said to be filled with riches.
Silver, gold, diamonds...even tablets describing lost languages and civilisations, if you believe the legends.
That feels like it could tie back to Lufenia, so we'll keep that on the back-burner. The guy next to her brings up the Lufenian language - his brother Unne wanted to find the Rosetta Stone to figure out how to speak it. Definitely all tracks - I recognise the name Unne too, but I can't remember where from.
