Clair – The Light's Chosen
"Given she, along with the rest of the party, are presently just hitting anything they come across, it makes sense to go for damage at the moment I feel."
—Field Notes of the White Path, attributed to early shrine texts
Born within the sanctuaries of Cornelia's temple, Clair took up the mantle of White Mage, and later, under Bahamut’s gaze, ascended to White Wizard. Her prayers and spells were not merely acts of healing, but declarations of order, calm, and compassion. While her companions hurled themselves into danger, Clair became their steadying presence - the moral compass and keeper of discipline amidst the chaos. Her presence brought structure to their wandering, and clarity to their moments of doubt.
Clair often acted as the unspoken steward of the group’s unity. Where Kaili rushed headlong into peril and Glitz tottered on the edge of collapse, it was Clair who tended to their wounds, chided their recklessness, and restored their spirits. She spoke seldom but acted swiftly, keeping tempers cool and egos checked. Though younger than Rukus, she at times felt the burden of keeping the party in line, her measured gaze reminding them of the stakes they faced. In moments of disarray, it was often her steady hand and calm words that reset their course.
In battle, she wielded sacred arts such as Healaga, Curaja, and the divine strike of Holy. She bore the Ribbon, the sigil of protection, and was ever the guardian against despair. Her casting was neither flashy nor delayed; it came with unerring precision, often anticipating wounds before they were struck. Her attention to timing bordered on prescient, and her capacity to restore others even when her own strength waned made her indispensable. When others scrambled, Clair already had a plan - her tactics honed through countless trials where one wrong decision could spell the end. Even in moments when her spells were redundant, her commitment never faltered, for she knew that safety sometimes meant redundancy.
Where others relied on strength or speed, Clair placed her faith in timing, clarity, and quiet control. She watched the flow of battle like a strategist from afar, yet stood in its very heart. Where Rukus was the sword, and Kaili the dagger in the dark, Clair was the unwavering shield - a figure of resolve through which the Crystals' light never dimmed.
