All at Sea
Leaving Pravoka, I see a ship in the docks to the south and approach it. Turns out you just walk into it and become the boat, I like that. You can only dock at docks, somewhat unsurprisingly, so it should help to indicate where we should and shouldn't be going. Also something which shocked me a little was random encounters on the seas. Is nowhere sacred?
Rukus is the victim of our first issue with status effects as he gets paralysed in our first fight, and again it's a bit hairy - Glitz danced with death again, but this time walked away with a level up to Level 8, so he's in principle caught up with the rest. Just to make a mockery of that though, the rest make it to level 9 on the open seas.
The seas are clearly treacherous as we make our way looking for a port to land. I find one in the north, but there doesn't seem to be much around so I follow the coast around looking for one closer to a town. This is my first mistake, as we run short of healing, and get attacked by wave after wave of 9 Sahagins and their red upgraded variants whose name I didn't catch at the time of writing.
Kaili is our second casualty, but we're really lucky not to have the mages taken out too, both of them are in the teens of health and I have no healing left I can use on my boat. At this point I'm tempted to use the No Encounters feature that Pixel Remaster offers, but I decide that feels like cheating. Fortunately after that battle, a port on the south of the inland sea comes into view. We moor and immediately jump into a sleeping bag.
That brings our mages back up to a decent level of health, and I decide that I'm going to try and find the nearest town on land, dragging Kaili along to hopefully a nearby church.
Thanks for reading.
If something in this piece resonated, or you just want to say hello, I'd love to hear from you.
