Depths of Chaos
As we enter B4, it actually looks like a trivial enough descent to the next level, just a quick shuffle over to the east, and we're there. This is confirmed by a quick look over, where I spot a green orb over the staircase.
Much more intriguingly though, to the south east there's a corridor along to a store room. I've got to assume there's at least something worthwhile along there, so before we make a straight shoot to Tiamat, we head along.
Rukus and Clair make Level 50, and despite the space for it in the UI, I think Rukus has maxed his HP. Even on his most feeble level-ups, Glitz would gain at least 1 HP, so we've hit the cap.
We make our way over to that chest though and pick up:
- Masamune
Another legendary sword in the series, and it seems like it would be a boost even further for Rukus. However given that he's the only one who can wield Excalibur, Kaili gets the honour of using it, getting a massive boost from Sasuke's Blade, going from 47 Attack to 70. That should make up for his slight shortcomings last time out against Kraken.
We loop back round as the rest of the party makes Level 50, and after healing up and restoring our MP, we give Tiamat a nudge.
Out of morbid curiosity I decide to try and downgrade the healing to just the Healara level instead, and while a nasty physical attack from Tiamat takes two thirds of Glitz's HP from him in the fourth or fifth round of combat, it's once again fairly prosaic.
The physical attacks weren't as powerful as I might have hoped, but it just meant it took slightly longer, rather than the strategy not working at all.
Down we go to B5.
