Facing Garland
Garland sees us enter, and decides this is the perfect time to monologue.
His plan is to try and exchange Sarah for control of the kingdom. I'm not an expert on negotiation, but it seemed like the people of Cornelia hadn't seemed to have entertained that as an option, so I guess Sarah wasn't due to have a good time there. The King's just sent 4 people he just met to have a go at saving her, despite having a castle and city guard, so again, not a ringing endorsement of his care or power. I'm not saying he doesn't want her back, but this information actually kind of puts it in context where he values these different things...
Garland proceeds to assess us and decides that he's got the measure of us and will take care of us. To be honest, given the hassle the 4 of us have had around this shrine, I sort of don't entirely doubt him, given he's just been hanging out round here alone...
The fight begins, and while I consciously decide to not be on auto-battle here, the only damage dealing that anyone apart from Glitz can do is attacking, so it's not really fundamentally different. The battle itself ends up being a touch underwhelming - 2 rounds of combat, Rukus, Kaili and Clair attacking, and Glitz trying out Fire and then Thunder puts him down. Not going to complain, there's a decent gil reward, though the EXP isn't that much more than some of the 4 vs 9 fights we've been having.
Anyway, that's that sorted.
