Things Are Getting Dicey
I decide to start fleeing those battles, which goes against some of my FF principles, because I'm sure there was one game or other that penalised it, but it's not worth the risk any more - magic and healing items are getting to a premium again.
That being said, I open an obviously suspicious chest, and get attacked by monsters even tougher than the Scorpions. Poor Rukus escapes with 2 HP, just keeping him off the leaderboard again. But it turns out that has the crown in it. I seem to not quite remember what I need it for, but it feels like that was why I came here...
Having overcame my pride against fleeing, I set it up as my auto-battle command, and decide to finish my looting. This is still feeling really dicey, as I'm down to my last potion. No encounters is looking super tempting, but I fear that's a bridge too far. At least in terms of not wanting to undermine the original game.
There were a bunch of areas down here also locked off by the mystic key, so I hope that's my reward for getting this crown. Otherwise I just have a cool new set of headgear. Looking in the Key Items it's a "crown that shimmers mysteriously". Not really super informative, but we'll see.
